Your guide to feeling polished, prepared & beautiful on your wedding day
6–9 MONTHS BEFORE
• Create a wedding beauty Pinterest board or inspiration folder with makeup, hair, and overall beauty looks you love.
• Consult with a trusted skincare professional to create a consistent skincare routine tailored to your skin and wedding-day goals.
• Research and secure your wedding-day makeup artist and hairstylist early, especially if you're getting married during peak wedding season.
• Start thinking about your overall bridal look—your dress, hair, makeup, accessories, and wedding style should all feel cohesive.
3 MONTHS BEFORE
• If you're planning on a faux glow, begin testing self-tanners or professional spray tans to find the shade and formula you love.
• Begin an at-home teeth-whitening routine or schedule professional whitening with your dentist, if desired.
• Schedule your bridal hair and makeup trial. Bring your veil, hair accessories, inspiration photos, and anything else that will help you visualize the complete look.
• If you plan to have a spray tan for your wedding, consider having one before your trial so you can see how your makeup looks with your desired skin tone.
1 MONTH BEFORE
• Keep your skincare simple and consistent. This is not the time to experiment with aggressive treatments or lots of new products.
• Support your skin from the inside out by staying hydrated, eating well, and getting plenty of rest whenever possible.
• Incorporate hydrating face, eye, and lip masks once or twice a week.
• Confirm your wedding-day beauty timeline, location, parking details, and arrival instructions with your beauty team.
• Schedule final beauty appointments such as hair maintenance, facials, waxing, brows, and nails, allowing enough time before the wedding for any redness or irritation to settle.
1 WEEK BEFORE
• Take care of any final brow or body waxing several days before the wedding to help avoid lingering redness or irritation.
• Put together a bridal beauty and emergency bag. Include essentials such as lip balm, touch-up makeup, blotting papers, hydrating eye or lip masks, pain reliever, electrolytes, bandages, fashion tape, deodorant, and any personal necessities.
• Keep drinking plenty of water and prioritize sleep when you can.
• Avoid experimenting with new skincare treatments, products, or beauty services this week.
1–2 DAYS BEFORE
• Schedule your manicure and pedicure. Gel or another long-wearing option can help keep your nails looking fresh throughout the wedding festivities.
• Follow your hairstylist's recommendation for when to wash your hair. Depending on your hair type and chosen style, freshly washed hair may be preferred.
• Prepare your wedding-day beauty area and have everything you'll need organized and ready.
WEDDING DAY
• Start with clean, hydrated skin and follow the skincare instructions provided by your makeup artist. Avoid experimenting with new products that morning.
• Plan for the bride to be one of the last people to have hair and makeup completed—but leave enough time for getting dressed, photos, and any final touch-ups without feeling rushed.
• Keep your touch-up essentials nearby, especially your lip color, powder or blotting papers, and anything recommended by your makeup artist.
• Most importantly, once you're ready, put the checklist away. Be present, enjoy the people around you, and take in the moments you've spent so much time planning for.
